Those who care for and feed the orphaned children, the elderly in need, and others who have been abandoned or abused:

Amor en Acción is an orphanage and care facility for abandoned and abused children around Lake Chapala.

Villa Infantil is an orphanage at Lake Chapala that cares for very young children found abandoned on the streets of Guadalajara.

Casa de Ancianos is an elderly care facility that cares for those who can not afford to pay for food and shelter.

Operation Feed is a program dispensing basic food staples to the disabled and others who can not afford to feed themselves and their families in San Juan Cosala.

Operation Ministries Soup Kitchen provides daily meals to approximately 100 people in and around San Antonio Tlayacapan, who otherwise could not afford to eat.

 

Those who provide children of extremely poor families with the opportunity for an education include:

Los Niños de Chapala y Ajijic provides educational and financial assistance to primary through university students by linking children directly with personal sponsors.

Rotary Club of Ajijic provides educational and financial assistance to children wanting to attend high school through university based on need and the motivation to achieve.

Pathways provides educational assistance to children wanting to attend high school through university based on need and the motivation to achieve.

Lake Chapala Society provides full college educations to children who have excelled in high school and could not otherwise attend college.

Those who provide miracles to children of extremely poor families through medical care include:

Niños Incapacitados provides medical assistance to children suffering from disabilities or from life threatening illnesses whose families are poor and cannot afford medical help.

Other charitable organizations needing assistance around Lake Chapala are:

Have Hammer teaches Mexican youth valuable life skills through woodworking and carpentry.
